What the Bible says - 2 Timothy 3:16; All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking and correcting and training in righteousness.

What the Bible means - A misconception of many is that the Bible is a collection of stories written by man's own ideas and/or their own interpretation of religious teachings. The author of the Bible is God Himself. Through the Holy Spirit God inspired His person and His plan to the authors (apostles and prophets). The authors wrote from a personal and historical using their own minds and writing styles. The words they wrote though through God's inspiration were God breathed - Return to BACPage Mission and Beliefs

What the Bible says - 2 Peter 1:20-21; Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophets own interpretation.  For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit -

What the Bible means - Scripture did not originate from the prophets creative work or personal interpretations but rather God inspired the them. They used their talents, cultural background and education. They were not mindless robots. God used them as the spokesmen of His Word. God alone is responsible for all interpretations of scripture. What the Bible says - Genesis 1:26-27; Then God said. "Let us make man in our own image, in our own likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God made man in His own image, in the image of God he created him. male and female he created them.

What the Bible means - God is not physical in the sense that he has a body. When the Bible states in God's image it is referring to His glory. Man cannot be totally like God in perfection because He is our creator. We our in God's image in creativity, speech, self-determination, morality and intellectual abilities. What the Bible says - Matthew 28:16-20; Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

What the Bible means - God gave Jesus the authority over heaven and earth. With this authority Jesus told the disciples to make more disciples. Jesus commends us to be disciples by telling of the Good News and to make others disciples of God's kingdom. Disciples are to baptize and teach new disciples to be obedient to God's word. Jesus affirms the reality of the Trinity by stating  'baptizing them in the name of the Father, the name of the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity though not mentioned in Scripture specifically describes the three in one nature of God. Return to BACPage Mission and Beliefs

What the Bible means - To pay for the penalty of sin a life had to be given. God choose to provide the sacrifice himself.  the sins of the world were removed by Jesus when he died as the perfect sacrifice. The sins of the world refers to the sins of everyone. Jesus paid the sin for each individual - your sin - by his death. You can only receive the forgiveness by confessing your sin to Jesus Christ and asking for his forgiveness. What the Bible says - John 3:16-18;  For God so love the world that he gave his one and only son, that who-ever believes in him shall not parish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world  through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemn already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only son

What the Bible means - God's love reaches out to all nations, all people. So dearly that he loved the world he expressed by sacrificing his only begotten son. Only begotten meaning one and only son. This was the highest price God could pay. Jesus accepted the punishment of our sins and offers us the new life he bought for us through  his sacrifice. For those who believe that Jesus paid for our sins will not face condemnation. Those who do not believe and refused his offer of salvation will face condemnation. What the Bible means - When the disciples saw Jesus taken up into heaven they knew with out a doubt he was God and he we as at home in heaven. The two men in white were angels who proclaim that there will be a day when Jesus returns the way he went. upon his return Jesus will judge and rule over the earth.
